Case Study: CRF transforms grouper bins with practical hydraulic solutions

Problem

CRF specialises in building high-quality grouper bins for farmers who need a way to transport seed and fertilizer from the shed to the air seeder. CRF creates products that make it easy for farmers to clean out and change varieties, fill the bins, use them, and own them. Originally, their bins had no hydraulics, but they found that farmers required more. They wanted a self-contained solution rather than using an air seeder auger, which meant CRF needed to move to a hydraulic-driven solution. Since this was all new to them, they needed a system designed that they could build and maintain. The challenge was that hydraulic engineers could design a system on paper that would work, but they didn’t fully understand the end goal or what the farmers needed.

Action
CRF engaged Armadillo to bring the hydraulic system to life in a way that would work reliably in the field. Armadillo’s team quickly got to work—visiting CRF’s site late in the day and meticulously tracing the hydraulic system from pump to endpoint. Using pressure gauges and flow checks, they diagnosed several issues, including an oversized pump that forced the diesel engine to run at peak power and drive motors that were mismatched to the pump’s output. Armadillo not only diagnosed the problems but also supplied the correct hydraulic motors to optimise the system.

Result
Following Armadillo’s intervention, CRF saw immediate performance improvements. The upgraded bins could now discharge up to 20% more product at the same time, enhancing efficiency and significantly improving the user experience for farmers. This not only boosted CRF’s reputation with their clients but also restored confidence in their product line. CRF continues to praise Armadillo for their practical understanding of hydraulics and their ability to deliver solutions that work seamlessly in the real world.

Case Study: Primary Sales

Primary Sales Australia was sourcing hydraulic components from several different suppliers, which led to multiple operational challenges. They frequently received incorrect parts, faced inconsistent supply, and encountered delivery delays. These issues disrupted production schedules, increased administrative workload, and added pressure to meet customer deadlines.

Case Study: Briteforce

Briteforce specialises in mobile LED light towers and wireless communications trailers. As demand grew, the company realised that the best way to keep up was to outsource some of its minor assemblies to subcontractors. They needed a partner who aligned with their values and could meet Briteforce’s expectations for quality and reliability.
